Simeon is the Founder/ CEO of Homa Bay County Green Growth Initiative, a CBO founded in 2012. The organisation advocates for Certified Organic Farming and use of green energy and processes in food production and processing. He has led the organisation in establishing a " nucleus" orchard from where other farmers can be trained on organic agriculture and production of fruit seedlings to be planted by farmers in their own pieces of land.

The nucleus orchard was certified for the first time in march 2017 and the fruits were sold at organic markets in Nairobi, Kenya in July 2017.

We have the plan to expand the nucleus orchard and to produce. more seedlings in our nurseries to give out to farmers and farmers groups with the intention of scaling production and value addition. The warm climatic conditions around Lake Victoria favors citrus and mangoes production and we see this as a plus for our projects.

I have previously exhibited organic production at GAIN(Global Alliance for Nutritious Foods ) in Nairobi and a local ASK show, alongside Ministry of Agriculture. HBCGGI, is a legal organisation with 3 main objectives:

1. Reduction of poverty among the locals

2. Healthy livelihoods as a result of eating foods organically produced

3. Environmental concerns and resilience to climate changes as our practices reduce greenhouse gases emissions and improves the sequestration of carbon in the soil
