I am an architect and a civil engineer. I am a registered architect in USA and have worked in both the housing and commercial sectors in USA, Africa and Asia. I got my Bachelor of Architecture degree from Turkey. I have a Masters in Architecture and Civil Engineering from MIT (Class of '82). I have worked for large Architectural firms as well as Construction management firms in USA and overseas. For the last 25 years or so I have owned a commercial design/ build firm in USA called Kinoo, Inc. (www.kinoo.com). I am also a founder and head of a non-profit called SARID, Inc. ( www.saridweb.org) that for the last 10 years or so is exploring ways of teaching people in poorer countries to build homes and shelters using local resources, including recycled waste. My buildings are green with small carbon footprint. My last project was in Lesotho, last year, where I have built a home for the elderly, sponsored by SARID and Sisters of Charity of Ottawa -Lesotho, a Roman Catholic Charity. Please see www.saridweb.org for homes built in several countries including seismic zones.
