Mr. Asefa Lintiso, born 18 December 1988, is an Ethiopian environmental activists, green energy campaigner, innovator and, best known as the founder of The Green Thinkers Youth Association. He is an innovator for the vetiver derived essential oil, soap and perfumes meant for personal hygiene and beauty.

The organization where Asefa belongs is one of the first to protect lake Hawassa from pollutants and one of the first to promote waste management, urban greening and use of environmentally friendly products in Hawassa, Bahir dar and other Ethiopian towns.

The young person came up with the idea of protecting the environment via youth based forces after realizing the fact that the lake around Hawassa City and its drainage systems have been spoiled by the house wastes, office wastes and solid and liquid wastes from health institutions, industries, Hotels, supermarkets and others. Lake Hawassa was also full of plastics and other dirty materials which reduced the volume of water in the lake and posing dangers on the aquatic biodiversity. Apart from this, land degradation and clearing of meager forest trees have also been immense in Tabor and Alamura mountains, which are known as nice tourist attractions and hubs for flora and fauna.

After making consultations with fellow students and environment activists , the initiative of saving nature was initially realized by cleaning lake Hawassa lake from pollution, paving ways for its sustainability and rehabilitating the genetic resources of Alamura mountain. He did so by coordinating peer groups, class mates, urban youth, street orphan children and other interested groups from different Sub Cities of Hawssa and the region as a whole. Since year 2007, GTYA has managed to develop its membership base to 350 young people and enabled to protect the environment in various angles by joining forces.
