Having spent many years in addressing the utility sector was when realization dawned that every kWh of energy we consume, every gallon of gas we drive contributes to carbon emissions. This in fact is personal carbon footprint. Also the 2 buggies in carbon emissions. Most, including me are clueless, I am a little better aware and take responsibility in my own way. My way began with taking a hard look at all the Climate Change and or Global Warming talk, news and publications. What I found was while there is talk and generic guidelines to do good, tools to help the citizen aware of what and how their responsibility evolved and give them something to think about were far and in between. Add that is what we didi, to that we brought goal setting, gaming, forming groups and just competing with each other to do some thing about their personal carbon footprint and become accountable and responsible for it. That started the journey of me wanting to give back. Having worked with large business all my life and in particular Business Intelligence I felt I could do it, so got hold of a group of like minded people who help me put together the CarbonGobbler, an application focused on helping citizen and enabling a change in life style. While individually what we can do is minimal but collectively we can make a change. All we need is the Will to change to make a difference
