Semi-Finalist Evaluation

Judges'' comments

Judge 1 :
The Local Colors project integrates a diversity of circular economy strategies to bring a new way of producing local, inexpensive and low-impact paint. The Living Lab inspired framework is a great idea to generate out-of-the-box ideas that can be shared and adapted to the local reality of a variety of cities. The project would be enhanced by having a clear portrait of the actual impact of traditional paint use and the number of benefits that could be attained. Ideally, a confirmation that at least one mining site is accessible and safe to feed the project would be great.

Judge 2 :

The collaborative and local dimensions of the proposal are interesting, as my be the original way of transforming mining waste. However, Some arguments are repeated many times in the proposal, which affects the quality of the presentation. Facts and information about the local paint market, the amount of mines waste tipically generated and the pourcentage that could be reused through this project would have reinforce the proposal. Environmental impact of latex paint compared to clay would also help to estimate impact of the proposal.
