Autonomous vehicles are here to stay but they have worn out their welcome in our city's densest, pedestrian friendly areas, our downtowns.

Summary
According to a recent study almost 40% of Los Angeles' land mass is devoted to cars whether that is parking, highways, streets, parking garages.
The increase of autonomous vehicles in our city centers has led to more not less traffic jams, and more harm to pedestrians as each vehicle operates and reacts to road conditions in the very same algorithmic manner.
Most importantly, adding more vehicles to our city center streets means more environmental, external costs such as high CO2 emissions used to build each car, precious metal extraction run-off pollution, and of course the grey plumes expelled by coal fired power plants.

What actions do you propose?
Create greater pedestrian connections or nodes between services, retail, government, leisure. This includes a redesign of public spaces, and sidewalks. Create greater support for trackless train transport between primary nodes in downtown area. Service areas outside city center with shuttles or minibus system to car parking areas.
