Finalist Evaluation

Judges'' comments

Open source information is a great idea to drive lower impact materials manufacturing and use.

However, we are not sure if this is meant to be a site for chemical formulations to build new materials or ideas on how to combine existing materials to create something new. Materials science is complicated so simplifying the language may be difficult.

We would suggest adding a bit more detail on the types of materials featured in the database.

Judges'' comments

Congratulations, you've been selected as a semi-finalist. To further develop your proposal for the finalist judging review, please see a few comments from the semi-finalist judges below.

How would you expand this beyond Nike and the Nike MAKING app?

How would you link this platform to incentives that drive more sustainable materials use? Build beyond education.

How does curation and validation happen? Who is responsible?

Are no costs realistic to build and maintain this platform?
