Semi-Finalist Evaluation

Judges'' comments

This proposal shows a solid awareness of behavioral principles that impede pro-environmental action and aims to circumvent these "wicked" barriers to promote green actions. In fact, it evinces an especially high level of social science sophistication with regards to behavioral science and the rise of social gaming. It's a professional and polished proposal. The big question for me, though, is what exactly will the GAME platform look like? The idea of awarding players public credits for real world green activities that they can use to buy green products and services is a nice one, and I like the platforms potential (in the abstract) to attract even people with little interest in environmentalism, per se. But the proposal simply gives no concrete idea about what the game will look like, the ways it will be "fun," etc. Without at least a draft of the platform, it's hard to get too excited about the idea at present, which is just too abstract.
