Marc Jackson founded Seahorn Capital in 2008 as a boutique investment advisory firm based in Los Angeles specialized in interactive software development, digital business building, social impact projects and related “serious games” and “gamification” initiatives. He has 20+ years of senior-level experience in the theme park, digital media and video gaming industries, and is a recognized expert in interactive media finance and advises both investors and media companies worldwide. As an independent advisor, Marc has arranged and managed more than $150 million in project and equity financing. In the G4C and serious gaming arenas, Marc recently advised on the set up of a Canadian-Californian cooperative initiative to use social gaming to “nudge” consumers toward better carbon-reduction behavior, and is currently spearheading a K-12 adaptive language learning game for use in US schools. Prior to working as an independent strategic and financial advisor, Marc served as CEO of independent game developer Player 1 Inc in Santa Monica where he built and managed partnerships with industry leaders including Sega, Midway, Interplay, and Universal and successfully produced a diverse portfolio of console video game titles for the PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. Prior to Player 1, Marc led corporate development for video game publisher Atari/Infogrames Entertainment SA (France). Prior to Atari, Marc worked as a strategy consultant to help chart new media directives for two of Europe’s largest media and television groups, Canal+ and TF1. Marc began his career working for Walt Disney Imagineering as a project manager on the realization of the Euro Disney theme park near Paris. Marc graduated with an MBA cum laude from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris (HEC School of Management, Paris) and holds a BA from the University of Michigan. Marc lives in Los Angeles with his family, and is a dual citizen of the US and France.
