The potential for social media to be used to address issues like climate change is unbounded. The challenge is developing an interface that allows ease of use and functionality. There are apps out there -- like Green Guide -- with some degree of impact. But no one has fully cracked this approach yet. Your proposal is nice, but lacks the detail necessary to suggest that you can do something that others have not.

I heard about this contest only a day before the deadline. I did not have time to prepare a more complete entry. We are also just developing the program and do not have the complete prototype available yet for review. There is quite a bit of detail to the project which incorporates best practices on communication on climate, behavior change, carbon footprint calculations and social media. I would appreciate knowing what details would have been helpful in reviewing the program. It is similar in some ways to iCarbon, providing people with a way to learn about how they can lower their emissions.
