Matt Barlow is an Associate Professor of Climate Science at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is interested in the influence of large-scale climate variability and change on local conditions of societal importance, especially in terms of drought and extreme precipitation. His work has been supported by NSF, NOAA, and NASA and has focused on several regions, including North America, Central-Southwest Asia, the Greater Horn of Africa, Northern Eurasia, and the Middle East.
