Background
The 2015 Proposal Workspace is an online arena for citizens to submit and develop proposals on what can be done to address climate change.
The current Workspace accepts all proposals; once the 2016 round of contests are opened, authors will be able to categorize and move their proposals into relevant contests.
What is a proposal?
A proposal is a description of a set of actions that you think should be taken to address climate change. They can be new ideas that still need refining, or well-developed projects that have already shown success and now can be applied elsewhere. Any proposal can be categorized using one or more aspects of the What, Where, Who taxonomy. To get a sense of what successful proposals are like, you can look at the winners from the 2014 round of contests.
What can I do with my proposal?
By submitting your proposal into the Climate CoLab, you are inviting citizens from around the world to view, share, and comment on it. You can open your proposal for all to edit (like a Wikipedia page) or choose whom to invite as a collaborator. You can edit it as often as you like, incorporating feedback from the CoLab community and, during the judging phases of contest, from our team of experts. Other community members can also click a button to indicate that they support your idea, and this can provide your proposal with a following and give it more visibility.
What's next?
Once the 2016 round of contests are opened, authors will be able to categorize and move their proposals into relevant contests. We will notify each author once this option becomes available.
