Steivan Defilla is Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University and President Assistant of APEC Sustainable Energy Center. From 2010 to 2016 he was Director at the Energy Charter, an intergovernmental energy organization headquartered in Brussels. From 1999 to 2010 he served as Senior Energy Advisor to the Swiss Economics Minister and attended Governing Board meetings of the IEA.

He recently authored the APEC Sustainable Urban Development Annual Report - From Models to Results. Before that, he supervised or co-authored 26 studies and analyses, three books, one of which prefaced by the Swiss Energy Minister, and 13 articles in English, German, French and Russian languages.

Steivan holds a Master degree in Statistics and a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He also holds a Postgraduate degree on Energy from the Federal Polytechnic Institute Lausanne.

Steivan is winner of a United World Colleges scholarship and is fluent in eight languages.
