Agricultural Value Chain Risk Management Consultant - FAO
Margherita is an economist providing technical advise and assessment on risk transfers and investments for climate risk management for roots and tuber value chains in Benin, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda and Malawi. She also investigates weather-based insurance mechanisms for potato farmers in Africa. At the moment she is also collaborating with the University of Bali to assess the impact of the Balinese Insurance Scheme for Rice Farmers.
Margherita consults for the FAO under the project Strengthening Linkages between Small Actors and Buyers in the Roots and Tubers Sector in Africa. She previously worked on investments and financing for disaster risk and pastoral risk management in Mongolia for the FAO and the World Bank. She has a BS in Economics and Business Management and a Master’s in Human Development and Food Security.
