The organization Tlali A.C. has been working in the coastal region for 4 years, the activities were carried on because of  the participation of women, with the themes: human rights and the participation in environmental care.

Since July 2014, the activities are part of the Comprehensive Plan for Community Welfare "Por los derechos de la niñas niños y adolescentes, una cultura de paz y la equidad de género, en la Laguna de Chautengo 2015-2019" promoted jointly with 5 other CSOs.

The work has been developed in stages, in the first one we worked with a group of 18 Afromexican women. Manuals on Mangrove, Women's Rights, Social Entrepreneurship and Financial Entrepreneurship were made. The problems of the lagoon were analyzed and it was concluded that it was necessary to form an organized group to solve them, for what they themselves founded: Women entrepreneurs of the Laguna de Chautengo (MELG).

In a second stage, the Workshop "Constitution, procedures and projects for the CSOs of the Costa Chica" was held in Playa las Peñitas Marquelia. It was reflected on what it means to make a civil association and the steps to follow. This workshop was attended by the MELG group and members of El Sirenito Macho, a marine turtle protection organization with 15 years of work in Costa Chica.

During 2017 the project "For the empowerment of Women

Afromexicanas "was supported by the social co-investment program of SEDESOL.

The project can be classified into 4 components: personal resources, interpersonal resources, productive resources and institutional resources.

1. Awareness and information workshops.

2. Three regional meetings of women and participation in the preparation of the Agenda "Needs of Afro-Mexican Women and their environment".

3. Campaign to raise awareness about the importance of domestic work and care.
