Marie-Claire is 21 years old, lives in Switzerland and is studying political and environmental sciences at the University of Zurich and the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich [ETH]. Therefore, she is active in several initiatives around all dimensions of sustainability. For example at ETH, she is involved in the student commission for sustainability and the Sustainability Week Zurich, a Zurich based student association, run by over 80 students from the 5 largest universities in Zurich, is working as hard as it can to inspire action in a world that is not doing enough. It has attracted over 15,000 people to its over 160 student run events over the past 5 years. Marie-Claire organized some events and was co-responsible for media communication. At the moment a small team is spreading this concept to all universities and higher education institutions in Switzerland. Furthermore, she is the president go the Swiss Association of student organizations for Sustainability, which supports national sustainability university policy and at Swiss Youth for Climate, an association which committed itself to pragmatic and responsible climate policies both at national and international level. She is a member of the Global Changemakers, the Climate Reality Project by Al Gore and is/was involved in different initiatives around empowering the youth.
