Mr. Simmers is a long-time supplier of instrumentation and control systems to traditional power and process industries, including coal and gas-fired power plants, refining and petrochem , pulp and paper, cement and lime , metal ore reduction, and industrial and institutional heating plants.

As a Product manager for Emerson Process Management for 27 years, Mr. Simmers was responsible for a line of controls, analyzers, and final actuation drives.

Mr. Simmers currently owns the consulting firm Furnace Improvement Associates, and also manufactures a line of concentrating solar dishes for cooking and power applications.
