A water-enthusiast since he was a wee lad, Mark served for a decade as an Associate Scientist at the NOAA Cooperative Institute for Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he helped lead the development of the Climate and Energy Literacy frameworks and co-founded the CLEAN network. He also led the climate education initiative at the National Center for Science Education and was a co-author of a survey whether and how climate change is being taught that was published in an article entitled "Climate Confusion Among US Science Teachers" in the journal Science. He is author of Climate Smart & Energy Wise (Corwin 2014) and has established ECOS, a new UNFCCC approved community for Education, Communication & Outreach Stakeholders.
