Emilie Rex is a sustainability and resilience consultant working with nonprofits and colleges and universities. Recent clients include the Big Ten and Friends (Universities) Sustainability Group and Mercy Corps International. In 2014, she left her position as the assistant director of sustainability for Indiana University where she worked closely with campus stakeholders to develop new academic, co-curricular and operational programs aimed at making the campus a more ecologically sound, economically viable and socially just place to live, learn and work. Emilie earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan. She then joined Teach For America and worked for two years as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher in Edcouch-Elsa, TX. After teaching for a third year in Monterrey, Mexico, Emilie returned to her hometown of Bloomington to pursue a Master's of Public Affairs at IU's School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She graduated in May 2009 with a degree in policy analysis with a focus on sustainable development.
