Parag Gupta holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.  He also holds B.E. (summa cum laude) and M.Eng. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.  His dissertation work on iron-doped diamond-like carbon coatings (Fe-DLCs) was conducted in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory's Tribology Section.
