Member Profile
City & Regional Planner with a background in Economic Geography and work experience in Boston, USA, Puerto Rico, Japan and Mexico. Long involved in improving city living and the planning process through the use of new approaches & new technology. Brought personal computers and GIS into the Boston Redevelopment Authority and introduced environmental and energy conservation issues into the planning process. I played a major roll in Boston's purchase and planning of Charlestown Shipyard and Boston Marine Industrial Park as well as waterfront projects in New York, throughout Japan, Palau and elsewhere.
As a private consultant and researcher I have a particular focus on Waterfront Planning & Development and the Transportation/Land Use interaction. I have worked in high-speed rail (Mag-Lev) and waste to energy feasibility studies and planning. Also, retail area re-development and Town-Gown symbiosis. Most recently I managed an international effort to modernize Indonesia's regional planning system using GIS, systems analysis & economic modeling.
I live in the Charlestown section of Boston.
