Born and raised in India within a society that was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi. 12 Years of training in Indian classical music (vocal) while pursuing BA in Physics.  Graduate studies at MIT (SM '80 Physics, Ph.D. '83 Radiological Sciences, 4 years at Harvard-MIT Division of HST’s MEMP program).  Worked for a decade in leading role within technology companies (majority at Lucent Technologies) – lead role in building collective knowledge-sharing, problem-solving forums, learning and training (curricula and courses) for engineers, and development performance management platform.

Seeking to use my experience in building collaborations among stakeholders and my concern and passion for the climate change, ecological decimation, and scarcity of energy and water, I left my employment ten years ago to listen to emerging voices (and learn to discern noises) in diverse sectors and culture - energy and water users and of companies, experts, agencies, etc..

My areas of focus areas in the past 10 years:

  • Brought together core team for creating commercially-viable solar dish technology.  Though I am not currently actively in the company, I am a co-founder of Clean Energy and Water for All (CEWA Technologies). http://cewatechnologies.com/
  • Identifying issues and opportunities in commercializing biogas for cooking energy in India (team included AirProducts Volunteer Engineers, Johns Hopkins Uni. researchers, NGO leaders in India).
  • Creating advocacy in drinking water for slums in India: Team included Consensus-building experts from MIT, NGO leaders in India, various USA water experts

I am also a semi-professional Indian classical musician, composer, a recorded artist, and state winner in All India Radio competition.  My co-compositions of Indian and Western classical music for large choir have been performed at Lehigh and Princeton Uni. Ticketed solo performances in USA, France, India for awareness and funds for environmental causes.
