I am a PhD student at MIT in the Engineering Systems Division. I'm originally from the DC metropolitan area; I'm an electrical engineer by training (and a dancer - ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop) and now focus on energy challenges facing developing economies, specifically East Africa. My research interests include sustainable energy development in developing countries; more specifically, I'm interested in applying systems methods (system dynamics and multi-objective optimization) to long-term electrification planning in East Africa.
