Member Profile
Started working on climate change at the World Resources Institute in 1988. Lead Author (and other roles) with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Founded Trexler Climate & Energy Services in 1991 - the first consultancy focused on working with the private sector to better understand and respond to climate change and climate risks. Did the first carbon footprints for Stonyfield Farm Yogurt, for Nike, and for The Nature Conservancy, along with all kinds of climate initiatives with companies and organizations around the world.
In recent years have increasingly come to view the perception and communication of climate risks and opportunities as the KEY challenge to accelerating progress toward a low-carbon future. And knowledge management as KEY to changing how we perceive and communicate climate change, because knowledge management can make it possible to "get the right information to the right person at the right time." Started building the Climate Web in 2011 with that goal in mind. Began taking the Climate Web public in 2015 after getting it past a critical mass stage.
