Member Profile
Collin is a human rights activist from a small Nebraska town where he spent his childhood escaping to the Rockies whenever possible. Following a mechanical engineering degree at Harvard he lived in rural Kenya for a year working for a community-based conservation organization. Collin is a firm believer in the power of collective action and has spent the last three years bringing people together on social, climate, and environmental justice projects, including work on tar sands, fossil fuels, and sustainable development. He co-founded new economics group Economy Futures, community climate action groups 350 Massachusetts and 350 DC, and the Responsible Investment at Harvard Coalition, worked on climate change policy and outreach at the White House, and now organizes against fracking and shale gas extraction in Pennsylvania. He serves on the SustainUS Steering Committee as Development Director.
