Since July 2009 I work as associate professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences of the National University of Costa Rica (UNA) and from February 2014 have been working as research associate at the University of Costa Rica´s (UCR) Engineering Research Institute. From 2008 to 2013 I worked as Boston University Adjunct Lecturer in Environmental Economics and Policy at The School for Field Studies-Center for Sustainable Development in Costa Rica. Previously I worked as consultant for 3M™ in the area of sustainability and environmental initiatives and as researcher and lecturer at the University of Minnesota in the Environmental Science Policy and Management program. I have actively participated in the planning and execution of numerous projects in the areas of forestry and environmental management, marketing, and economics. In 1999 I graduated as a forest management engineer from the National University of Costa Rica and earned the Master of Science and Doctoral degrees from the University of Minnesota, the latter in Natural Resource Management with emphasis in economics and environmental strategy. I have published in scientific journals including: “Ecosystems Services”, “Business & Professional Ethics Journal”, “Journal of Forest Products Business Research”, “International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment”, “Forest Products Journal”, “Latin American Journal of Economic Development, in addition to other books and magazines contributions. Also I´m a member of the editorial board of the peer review journal Ciencias Ambientales, and have presented my work in multiple national and international conferences, and to visiting foreign students and researchers. I have received several recognitions, among them outstands the 2007 Best Doctoral Dissertation Award of the Organizations and the Natural Environment Division of the Academy of Management.
