Dr Isabelle Thomas completed her postdoctoral research in 2003 at the Center for Environmental Management and Policy, University of Louisville. She has extensive research experience in climate change and disaster risk management. Professor Thomas conducted many researches on New Orleans' reconstruction plans following Hurricane Katrina. She is a leading expert on vulnerability and resilience analysis through the use of Geographic Information Systems. Her background also includes a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Geography and spatial planning from the University of Paris IV- Sorbonne.
