I research how concepts and ideas from complexity science can redefine problems in sustainable development, climate change, technological innovation, and international relations so that paths to practical solutions may be identified. Either alone or with others I have published or edited two books on sustainable development; one on sub-national institutional structures for sustainable development; another book on the improbability of capitalism producing the technological innovations needed to mitigate climate change; and a book on the uses of complex systems in international relations theory. My articles and book chapters range from international political economy of climate change to the intersection of technology and sustainable development. I have an earned doctorate, have taught at universities and government training centers on three continents, and have extensive experience in a wide range of businesses.
