Toby Ast has spent his career focused on energy efficiency, energy management and strategy. For the last seven years, he oversaw all things energy for Preservation of Affordable Housing, a national non-profit housing developer. There he designed and implemented numerous energy projects while also influencing national policies to increase the availability of resources for energy work in affordable housing. Prior to that he worked for the Consortium for Energy Efficiency assisting utilities in the design of industrial demand side management programs.

He graduated Duke University with a degree in Biology and has a MBA from the Olin School of Management at Babson College.

As Director of Innovation, Toby helps PowerOptions members access new products and services to address their increasingly complex energy management needs. He supports the diverse missions of the PowerOptions members by helping them capture energy savings and mitigate their exposure to market uncertainty.
