Member Profile
I was educated at Royal Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne UK and then served articles with an eminent civil engineering practice, eventually qualifying as MICE and MIStructE. I was involved in infrastructure engineering and historic building reconstruction in Llbya while on national service with Royal Engineers. I designed and built roads and railways in Kenya and Uganda, working for Nairobi City Council and E.A. Railways and Harbours. I moved to Australia to work on the West Australian Rail Standardisation Project. Later, I became an associate in a prestigious firm of town planners in Melbourne. These engagements led to an interest and expertise in IT. I opened my own IT company, providing consultancy and contracting services in a variety of areas. Now retired, I am blogging on climate change and sustainable population matters (reengineeringaustralia.com, where a more detailed CV can be found) as well as being the webmaster for our local U3A.
