Christopher is a dual degree student at the MIT School of Architecture + Planning. He is concurrently pursuing masters degrees in city planning and real estate development, with a concentration in environmental design. Prior to his studies at MIT, Christopher was a program analyst for the City of New York, where he coordinated energy efficiency audits and retrofits at over 300 municipal facilities. Operating under PlaNYC, the city's long-term plan for sustainability, he was the lead analyst on a $100M capital budget and he managed compliance with federal grant requirements connected with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. He has also worked for the City of Oakland on energy management and climate action initiatives. While at MIT, Christopher is focusing on breakthrough strategies for sustainable development. His projects have included a global survey of urban climate adaptation, design proposals for clean energy cities in China, and ecological redevelopment strategies for a new town in Israel. Originally from Hartford, CT, Christopher has lived in New Haven, San Francisco, Brooklyn, and now Somerville. He is a LEED Green Associate and holds additional certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers and the Building Performance Institute.
