Not enough research being carried out in the area of tipping points, among others. Terence Tao said he was able to get progress in solving math problems thru inviting online contributions and discussions. Can an internet crowdsourcing model expedite and expand research beyond current modes of communication practiced by climatologists et al ? How would quality control be done ?

Hi steveo, In 2013, we hope to take steps toward the vision you outline in your comment by inviting the Climate CoLab community to add enhancements to simulation models that project the future impacts of actions to address climate change.
