Whilst this idea seems logical, there is some skepticism in the literature that there is any beneficial effect. See https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/037877889500925N which references a a US DOE test being done and concludes: "Field measurements suggest that maintenance measures, such as coil cleaning and gasket replacement, save little energy". I suggest the author provide clearer evidence of energy savings to make this proposal more compelling.
