Hello everyone who ever might find oneself on this platform. Having a few periods of my life connected to exchange programs abroad I tried to think of such a list. So here it is.

If you find yourself in a new country, be really careful with the following stuff:

1) National food and drinks. Really. You should really make a few native friends and only go to your first parties with them. You never know what effect vodka or kombucha will have on you, so don’t rush it.

2) Time is important. Especially if you are a long way from home, try to adapt to the current time zone at once, do not stay up late to communicate with your friends from the previous uni. Also, be punctual. Even if you used to be late for meetings before, make a new you in a new place. This version of yourself better value other people’s time, be it a professor or just a newly made pal.

3) Language. If you were lucky (or not so much) enough to go study to the country where people speak a foreign language, embrace it from the first day. Really, the faster you start, the more gain you’ll get. It will be hard, funny for some, but trust me, you should not care less. Practice is everything. And those who might laugh at you at the beginning will most likely be stunned with your performance at the end of the term.

4) Know your limit. And by this I mean - acknowledge that you cannot do everything. Don’t take all the classes available. Understand that the more you take, the more projects it will entail. Believe me, you do not wanna wake up one day and find out that the deadline for that Literature essay is the evening and you basically have no time to read the actual text. I confronted such a situation a few times. God knows how many lab works and assignments I just did not have time for. Consider it a sweet bonus and I will say no more, these guys you can trust: https://essaypro.com/write-my-essay.html

5) At the same time, take the most of the experience. Usually, the months or years you spend in a new country turn to be the most colorful memories ever. Rock it while you are young. Enjoy yourself, your mates, the college or uni and be as bold as you can be. New places are meant for it.
