Pitch

People love to learn. Give gardening lessons from govt and in offices and neighborhoods to get people started going back to nature.

Description

Summary

People need less modern society, and gardening lessons inserted into modern life could be the next step between yoga classes we have now, and carbon free nature societies of the future.

Going back to the land is the next step for humans.  We don't need video games and money to make us happy.  But ordinary people no longer have labor skills like organic gardening and housebuilding.

The new tech education is LOW TECH AND LABOR!

Is this proposal for a practice or a project?

Not sure

What actions do you propose?

Sponsor govt programs for gardening classes to get people started on thinking about using their land and housing spaces for plants and food.

Encourage businesses to offer gardening programs for their employees and gardens on site inside and outside office buildings.  Plants will make people both happy and useful.

Who will take these actions?

Governments and businesses will have to create social programs to get people interested and trained.

Where will these actions be taken?

Offices and neighborhoods across the first world.

In addition, specify the country or countries where these actions will be taken.

United States

Country 2

No country selected

Country 3

Country 4

Country 5

Impact/Benefits

What impact will these actions have on greenhouse gas emissions and/or adapting to climate change?

Enormous savings in food transportation, packaging and maybe govt subsidies if people grow their own food.

Decoupling of people from money for survival.

This is also a gateway exercise for new human self sufficiency and back to the land programs that could also include green and low tech  house building and design.

What are other key benefits?

I don't think people are well designed to spend their lives sedentary and inside and at a computer being yelled at by a boss to make money and status for t things and people they hate.

Humans can get healthier through more interaction with nature and exercise.

Costs/Challenges

What are the proposal’s projected costs?

Initial low investment of building gardens and hiring gardening teachers.
