Adopt production systems that comply the environment is in the interest of all. For this, must promote agroecology.

Description

Summary

the main sectors responsible for greenhouse gas emissions are energy, industry, transport, agriculture and deforestation. These two last are stabilized at 24% of emissions Global (CGAAER, 2014).

To ensure sustainable management and conservation of resources natural. at urban or rural, is essential adapting production systems (FAO). Needless in our interest at all, to adopt management systems that comply the environment. We must put in place systems and agriculture that not only know feed the world, but that reconstruct soils and ecosystems structure without dipping in non-renewable resources (Pablo, 2012).

To meet the demand food increasingly growing, we need apply methods intensification agriculture, more sustainable in terms environmental.

It should find alternative approaches. Intensifying production while preserving the resource base natural, biodiversity and knowledge traditional. But difficulties we face are numerous. Among, we have:

  • The (mis) use of inputs chemical. Use fertilizer chemical, such was multiplied by 10 between 1950 and 1992, reaching 161 million tons in 2005 (Gliessman, 2007).
  • Ignorance of producers: the best production and data systems weather, their importance;
  • losses postrécoltent

The project is to promote sustainable development by changing bad mentality, bad practices and production techniques. Identify, Develop, Train and Inform is the policy for promoting an Agriculture and production systems meeting the environment.

Is this proposal for a practice or a project?

Not sure

What actions do you offer?

The actions we propose are:

Promote agroecology popularizing the use of microorganisms in production systems

Promote the use of agro-ecological techniques and practices : this through training farmers in the use of microorganisms and good post-harvest practices.

Promote the use of information and meteorological data agricultural : requires training of producers to the use of information weather

Who will take these actions?

This initiative will require partnership research institutes, organizations national and international and producer. Thus, the search may diversify into this field and awareness will be high scale.

Where will these actions be taken?

These actions should apply in the region of Adamawa, and across the country. Starting with rural and then urban areas. Agro ecological practices should not only be identifiable in rural areas but also in urban areas with agroforestry Urban and Agriculture Urban. For a change major World, other countries encouraged to adapt the activities to their context.

In addition, specify the country or countries where these actions will be taken.

Impact / Benefits

What impact will these actions have on greenhouse gas emissions and / or adapting to climate change?

The system warming climatic is unmistakable. He accelerates so it East essential to take measures to mitigate and adapt to it. (IFAD, 2010)

As Müller suggests, the idea is the least possible disruption the ground, to keep cover, stir and make crop rotation (FAO, 2009).

Agro-ecology is defined as is a set of practices agricultural whose purpose East to apply the principles of ecology to agriculture. It offers technical and practical, based sure autonomy, sustainability and prudent use of resources. it allows to intensify production by integrating the benefits of modern technology while preserving the resource base natural, biodiversity and knowledge traditional.

The techniques and practices of agro ecology are multiple: composting, not turning soil use natural and plant fertilizer, treatments phytosanitary natural, intercropping, selection of local cultures the best adapted, agroforestry, struggle against erosion (conservation agriculture), the use of hedges as natural protection strategies -attraction repulsion and agroforestry.

What are other key benefits?

The agro-ecological practices allow increase yields. They represent potential opportunities jobs for rural and urban areas having active and young population.

Agro-ecology promoting agricultural diversification can to guarantee a healthier diet. It allows the recycling and utilization maximum resources available in the field, rather than the use input External.

It enables the development and optimization of resources natural, and reduces the use input Agricultural synthetic, often expensive.

Description

Summary

The main sectors responsible for greenhouse gas emissions are energy, industry, transport, agriculture and deforestation. These two last are stabilized at 24% of global emissions (CGAAER, 2014).

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, we need to change and adapt our production systems to ensure sustainable management and conservation of natural resources in urban and rural areas.  It will be in our interest to adopt management systems that comply the environment. We must put in place agriculture systems and process that not only contribute to feed the world, but also reconstruct soils and ecosystems structure without reducing the non-renewable resources (Pablo, 2012).

To meet the increasingly growth of demand for food, we need to apply new methods to intensify agriculture that are more sustainable in environmental terms.

We should find alternative approaches. We have to intensify production while preserving the natural resources, biodiversity and traditional customs. Nevertheless, we have many obstacles,

  • The misuse of chemical inputs. The use chemical fertilizer was multiplied by 10 between 1950 and 1992, reaching 161 million tons in 2005 (Gliessman, 2007).
  • The ignorance of producers. They don’t master  the best production and data systems, the weather and  their importance
  • The losses from harvest.

The project is to promote sustainable development by changing bad mentality, bad practices and production techniques. Identify, Develop, Train and Inform is the policy we are to put in place to promote an agriculture and production systems that will preserve our environment.

-          Promote the use of information and meteorological data agricultural: this requires training of farmers on how to use of weather informations.
