Finalist Evaluation

Judges'' comments

This is a well written proposal. My main concern is that such networks are tried all the time, and invariably are held together with string and don't really succeed. To make a network succeed requires strong leadership and financial support (millions of dollars) in the center doing nuts and bolts quotidian support, and on top of that enormous grass roots worldwide support. Invariably the UN sets up networks with neither of these, and they wind up being an interesting, but not well used, website and a few meetings, all in English (translation takes either money or super engaged people). Basically this is a very standard approach that often fails to really take off.

Interesting proposal and well-constructed proposal; with some good ideas. A more detailed description of the specific challenge it seeks to address and what specific actions the network plans to take would strengthen the proposal. Its not clear how the envisaged Network be sustained.

This is a very interesting proposal that addresses multiple SDGs and clearly links to Climate co-lab proposals. What we would like is to know more about specifically what this project will take do. As currently written, the project is extremely large and multi-pronged. A detailed chart with specific actions, actors, budget for each action, and goal would be useful in helping the reader understand the plan of attack. It might also be useful in helping the authors of the proposal think through the feasibility of taking on so much at once.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments and suggestion. We are currently developing the Action Plan to demonstrate the proposal's feasibility using a selection of five organizations (not counting Team Synergy) for a pilot project.

A note on Novelty: There is no global organization coordinating the efforts of multiple project organizers and seasoned professionals in climate resiliency and technology tool development seeking to meet the UN's SDGs. If you know any organizations designed to do what we propose, (rapidly ramp up relevant projects globally) please note them. I'd love to see how they function with limited resources and who they work with.

Responded to the new question in the proposal: What enabling environment would be required in order to implement this proposal?

Added response to Judges' evaluation comments in the "Who will take these actions and which types of actors are involved?" section (at bottom). You may also go directly to the response where a downloadable PDF is available and the response is presented directly as well at https://cardclimate.wordpress.com/team-synergy/. The PDF presents formatting whereas the content at that page does not retain the formatting.
