The use of ICT,Embedded,Transcription... towards competence and innovation on educating children on preferring solutions to live problems

Description

Summary

ADDRESSING GOALS 4 (QUALITY EDUCATION), 7( AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY), 8 (DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH), 9 (INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE) AND 13 (CLIMATE ACTION)

The use of ICT and technological pedagogies towards competence and innovation focused and infused education is pivotal in a knowledge economy and mandatory for sustainable development. Hitherto, our society has been educating children on theories up to the extent that when basic students get admission to the University; this mismatched relationship of theoretical solutions to real-live problems continues. This isn’t really working for us as at now, there is need for disruptive techniques to overturn this idea of just schooling to get certificates after graduation to schooling for competence and innovative ideas to curate jobs creation and adept hands that can do them.

Innovative ICT System has caused a paradigm shift introducing the age of network intelligence, young entrepreneurship, reinventing businesses, governments, and institutions leading to prospects such as: job creation, flexibility, network organization, vertical/horizontal integration, innovative entrepreneurship, organizational learning, speed up in service delivery, and coordinated network building - all of which are supported by Embedded Knowledge. This paper methodology talks briefly on HIKEY 5 agendas on Practical ICT solutions (repair hub, networking and software), Transcription, Embedded Systems, Reticulation and I.T outsourcing hub.

Proposals

Exploring Synergistic Solutions for Sustainable Development using education and other similar tools to improve the education system in the community

What actions do you propose?

I propose a model of firmly structured processes that will allow for a seamless integration and expansion of all aspects of ICT management – a blueprint in conformity with the strategic development of Nigeria and Africa. We have carried out actions on training students with this tools and a follow up to ensure that they practice and get the best out of it.

Climate: Lagos State is said to be with the highest number of ict waste in Africa used, so we decided to have set up a small crew to sensitize people on Reuse and repair of ICT equipment, Safe disposal and recycling of ICT equipment, Using less energy and less paper, Choices when purchasing new equipment, Recycling computers and many more which will go a long way if we have the resources to make this bigger and implement recycling processes in Nigeria for a start. Innovative ICT System has caused a paradigm shift introducing the age of network intelligence, reinventing businesses, governments and institutions leading to requirements such as: flexibility, network organization, vertical/horizontal integration, innovative entrepreneurship, organizational learning, speed up in service delivery, and a coordinated network building all of which are supported by ICT. so, we are

  • Organise technical programmes for students with project oriented ideas and skills.

· To create, develop, implement, utilize and sustain information and computing infrastructure that is in line with World schools vision, mission and strategies.

· To enhance academic services and processes through the maintenance of integrated management information system applications that are real-time which increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Schools’ administrative processes.

· To implement other management measures that facilitates learning and information systems to support self-starters and ICT

· To assist the users in understanding and utilizing the full range of information services that will be made available and to foster the acquisition of skills necessary for independent learning.

  • To provide the School Executives with ICT intelligence to support good decision making on service development.

To prioritize and plan appropriate staff development and recruitment to respond to changes in service provision and delivery

Who will take these actions and which types of actors are involved?

The scope entails:

  1. Organise technical projects and programmes including holiday code schools
  2. Design and build a physical ICT infrastructure and associated technical systems in the Administrative Department of the proposed school.
  3. Train NYSC Corps members from the Orientation camp to be Facilitators of the schools throughout their service period.
  4. The establishment of the status and opportunities for use of ICT innovations in teaching, research, outreach and networking and to establish the status and opportunities for institutional ICT policy strengthening.

Where will these actions be taken and how could they scale?

Community of Users

The community of users includes all registered students and Facilitators only as the key representative users starting with Lagos State, Abuja, Kaduna and Edo State as pioneer states.

Our Approach

A huge challenge that results in Higher Institutions of learning not achieving their ICT and Jet-Club related goals is a lack of coherence between the processes, the commitment of the community of users, the ICT model and management.

Our approach is to start up a conversation with the users, understand the existing structures and systems, before designing a final model.

We propose a treatment that is generic enough to apply to the broad notion of basic curriculum– not just the administration of the School – but all functions of the School, in a bid to deeply realize the fundamental mission of the project

In addition, specify the countries where these actions will be taken.

Impact/Benefits:

What impact will these actions have on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and/or adapting to climate change?

It is clear that Edtech, Embedded systems and practical programmes will continue to significantly impact all societies worldwide, in all economic, social, and cultural aspects especially education. The knowledge economy is demanding new types of learners and administrators. New technologies are changing modes of learning, collaboration, expression and also service provisioning. Widespread social and political un (that stems in part from an idle hand’s being the devil’s workshop) compels Educational Institutions globally to think more concertedly about their role in promoting individual and civic development.

What are the most innovative aspects and main strengths of this approach?

Innovative ICT System has caused a paradigm shift introducing the age of network intelligence, young entrepreneurship, reinventing businesses, governments, and institutions leading to prospects such as: job creation, flexibility, network organization, vertical/horizontal integration, innovative entrepreneurship, organizational learning, speed up in service delivery, and coordinated network building - all of which are supported by Embedded Knowledge.
