Finalist Evaluation

Very nice proposal. A problem of great importance for environment and health. Innovative solution with biochar. Tractable problem to start with one site in DRC. Very well researched and presented. Link with other co-lab proposals and lack of explicit mention of SDG's is a slight weakness as regards to this particular call.

Very interesting proposal, but ultimately, to me, not enough related to the issue of addressing multiple SDGs.

Very good technology and appropriate location (DRC) to use biochar to reduce the environmental impact of mine tailings. In revising the submission suggest more detail on the sections left blank (costs, author, etc). Also there is no mention of past CoLab proposals that this could build synergies with and no reference to what SDGs are targeted.

This is a very detailed proposal, but it does not touch specifically on meeting an integrated set of SDG challenges. Whilst acid mine drainage is a very important problem, is there a way that this initiative can be combined with some other proactive proposals to come up with a more holistic solutions-oriented proposal. What are the SDG and climate implications? I strongly encourage this contestant to join forces with one of the other proposals.
