Thank you for your proposal submission. We found the proposal appealing and appreciate you thinking outside of the box. We decided not to advance your proposal for three main reasons:
1) There needs to be a bigger emphasis on how to gather support for the project. A voluntary, charitable program to pay for tree-planting proportionate to emissions has been around in LULUCF CDM projects and boutique forest-carbon credit markets for twenty years. It's still around. A company or person can go online and sponsor groves of trees in exchange for the title to the carbon they sequester, and it's available on many a platform in scores of countries using dozens of methodologies and certifications. How would you go about getting more companies onboard your project versus other projects?
2) Monitoring GHGs of the top 100 companies with drones is impractical (they're hovering 24/7 over thousands of point sources and non-point sources?) and unnecessary (most big companies already report emissions). The companies who would be voluntarily participating in this certainly wouldn't need a third-party drone service to inform them of their emissions.
3) More money is needed to get this project off the ground – from tree seeding to drone monitoring.
