Convergence of various government social protection mechanisms by making risk / adaptation affordable and accessible for the poor.


Description

Summary

The project aims to improve awareness of the people of Del Carmen of the various social protection programs implemented by the National, Provincial and Municipal Governments to support the improvement of the Filipino Families. The local government will negotiate with government insurance programs and making terms accessible / affordable for the poor specially farmers and fisherfolks.

The local government will release Identification Cards that is recognized as an official government identification card to allow the poor to transact in government organizations.

Develop a physical one-stop shop office for social convergence to accommodate promotion, enrollment, payment and claims to all partner agencies of the local government.

Require all social convergence members to enroll in technical and skills development programs for employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

9 Municipalities of Siargao Islands in the Philippines with initial rollout to the Municipality of Del Carmen. If the project implementation is successful, a policy brief and case study will be established to push replication by other local governments in the Philippines.
