The proposal elaborated on a less-discussed emissions mitigation method and did a thorough job addressing how to integrate it with current campus infrastructure.

This proposals suggests using rooftop space for the collection of solar energy in a different way than what is usually proposed. A good revision would expand upon this differentiation, and would explore how this would fit in with the current MIT Facilities development plan.

Dear Sirs,

in the revision of our proposal we have included  and elaborate on the following :

  • On the related patent we hold and make the Lighthouse Solar Collector unique (9).

  • That  Lighthouse Solar Collector do not use concave mirrors to concentrate the sun  (14).

For the first time globally plastic or glass Fresnel lenses are used in concentrated solar thermal collectors  with point  focus at the local level, for high temperature applications like heating/cooling (13), desalination, process heat etc.

  • That Lighthouse Solar Collector  match  the intentions of MIT ‘s Solar Center and the renewal of the buildings roof in the next years (12).

  •  We have divided the ways that Lighthouse Solar Collector  can be applied to the campus heating and cooling system (10)  in order to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions in three actions according to the GHG Protocol (11).

We are certain that Lighthouse Solar Collector can play a major role in the reduction of GHG emissions not only in the MIT campus but globally (15) , as well as to contribute to other major problems like water purification (thermal treatment).

Climate Colab contest is a great opportunity for  us  to show our work and attract interest in optimizing the Lighthouse Solar Collector  as  final products suited to different applications  and commercialize it globally (15).
