Reign & Co. is built on a holistic sustainable design process, where products and services are created within a closed-loop system.

The business of fashion has shaped the industry into an economic success. Unfortunately this success has come at a great cost to the environment and a majority of the stakeholders who bring fashion to life. Fashion is no longer driven by the need to express the cultural and societal zeitgeist. It has become an industry driven by aesthetics, planned obsolescence and an efficient profit driven system.

However, addressing the negative environmental and social impacts does not need to compromise the needs of a business. The business model itself is no longer relevant in today's social climate. This proposal will introduce a sustainable design canvas. The intention of the canvas is to guide designers through a holistic approach to design. Utilizing systems thinking, the canvas incorporates all aspects of the fashion industry for consideration throughout the design process: a sustainable supply chain; new business models; design practice; sustainable product; and consumer engagement.
