Pitch

Utilize wind-energy to power cotton yarn-spinning-knitting technology near fiber origin regions like North Texas to reduce negative impact.

Description

Summary

Guild-IRL wishes to explore establishing cotton yarn spinning operations close to fiber growing areas like Northern Texas to reduce CO2 emmissions. Further to CO2 reduction by improving manufacturing proximity Guild-IRL also proposes utilizing wind-energy to power new German cotton yarn spinning / cleaning / knitting machinery recently released by Mayer & Cie. This would yield an improved outcome of negative impact to our environment and depending on energy-distribution infrastructure of other regions like India this could be duplicable for greater scale. This proposal does not take into account processing of material beyond knitting. However, alternatives should be further explored like increased marketing of materials without exposure to dyestuff.

What actions do you propose?

  • Individual purchasers and re-purchasers of the branded apparel.

Where will these actions be taken?

United States

India

Other countries where cotton is grown and used in apparel.

What are other key benefits?

What are the proposal’s costs?

  2. Find financial funding (year 2-3)
  3. Begin construction of facility (year 3-4)
  4. Begin manufacturing material (year 4-5)
