Novel proposal for reducing deforestation of ecologically critical forest parcels. The support of soy and cattle producers seems essential-- has this support been ensured? Comments that were made by Judges' from previous round were not addressed.

Judges'' comments
Needs a budget.
Identification of a novel (rarely appreciated) problem and practical solution. In principle, would require no financial incentives and no additional regulation to implement. Incentives to participate are presented, though not as thoroughly as might be helpful. Aim is to modify BAU in large scale agric. by adjusting land use/land use planning processes to incorporate spatially explicit model. High potential for replicability in similar landscapes. Weaknesses/questions: What would be the downside of losing hedgerows in these landscapes?
