 Climate Rescue Aug 1, 2016 07:16  | I hope you're aware that adding biochar without added nutrients can be counterproductive and would invalidate the study? The study should not consider whether biochar is good for trees/plants/soils, since this is already exhaustively demonstrated. It should consider options for how biochar should best be applied in your particular settings. Key variables to consider include char sizes, added nutrient sources and proportions, added myccorhizal funghi, combining biochar and water storage at root level, mulching layer for biochar used as topdressing, biochar/nutrient pits beside trees. It would also be worthwhile considering scaling options such as tree adoption by schools and households who could produce and supply the biochar. Hope that helps?
