I propose to improve airplane efficiency by flying with an optimal load after elimating excess cargo, everything is weighed to get optimum.



Airplane efficiency can be significantly improved by carrying the optimum weight. Higher efficiency means lower fuel consumption and less green house gases. So I propose a full weight tracking system and a system that tries to achieve this optimum weight before an aircraft takes off.

Everything is weighed from fuel that goes inside the plane to passengers, cargo and water stored. Nowadays airplanes fly with excess weight, airlines think they can make some quick money by loading the aircraft with a ton of cargo but they don't realize that in the long run they almost end up loosing money due to excess fuel that is consumed by airplane due to this slight overload. Also this will affect the performance of the airplane in the long run.

I also propose for a feature at airports around the globe whereby passengers have the option to send the luggage or cargo that they don't need immediately by Ship cargo, for a fraction of cost.

Globalization makes it easy to send goods around the world. The cost for shipping goods has never been as low as now. However, the choice of the means of transportation does severely influence the amount of CO2 emitted for the transportation of goods.The following table shows the amount of CO2 (in grams) emitted per metric ton of freight and per km of transportation:


What actions do you propose?

  1. To have a proper system and algorithm of load planning for aircrafts, everything is weighed from fuel that goes inside the plane to passengers, cargo and water stored.
  2. Strict actions for not complying to these optimum weights and penalty.


Who will take these actions?

Airplane manufacturers will prescribe the optimum weight of airplane that ensures maximum efficiency and airlines and airports will try to achieve this number by innovative laod planning.
