Build the adaptive capacity of school students for climate change adaption.


Description

Summary

The effects of climate change can be felt throughout the developing world as countries face changing and often deleterious weather patterns, decreased agricultural productivity, rising food prices, food shortages, transportation difficulties, and even heightened risk of conflicts.

These effects have a severe impact on communities that are the least equipped to deal with new challenges. Climate change adaptation seeks to minimize vulnerability, exposure and maximize adaptive capacity. volunteering often aims to give valuable skills and knowledge in addition to benefits to the host community and organization.

What actions do you propose?

University students program of the life science (Bachelor or Master level ) should complete at least one internships (Voluntter) in their respective secondary level school (class 1-10) prior to graduation  for climate change adaptation awareness at school.

What are the proposal’s costs?

In context of Nepal:- University facilitate internship program and government pay university facilitation cost per student US$20/month and US$300/month internship (volunteer ) for climate change adaptation program.


Time line

Internship (Volunteer) positions run full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 weeks.
