GHG Rescue; Buying Waste from Households and selling it to Recycle Companies by G4CC

Thank you @waghhm, must say I considered this option after coming across this article (http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/24/politics/seattle-composting-law/) by CNN. I checked out your proposal and it looks like an amazing project, I was hoping you were going to undertake the project yourself but i realized you made it a global action by anyone. It would have been easier to collaborate with your project (if you were personally undertaking it) to fuse it into mine. I have few concerns on how to integrate it into my project and I hope you can advice me so I can fuse it in. They are: 1. Ghanaians have loads of issues when it comes to land rights and use (I am sure its same everywhere). So do we have to purchase lands, use government lands or talk to individuals to obtain their lands for the planting of the seeds? 2. Who will take care of these fruit plants or trees when they have been planted. I know you addressed these in your proposal but consider the fact that my proposal is mainly on waste management, so if I want to add tree planting to it i have to do it such a way that it doesn't affect my focus and have huge implications on my budget. I have one request to make; when you implement the fruit-seed store-spread activity kindly mention the name of Swami Vivekananda (a great soul from India) and kindly try to add the name of sage from your country so that this ongoing activity would be known by those two names. This is a great project towards emission reductions through waste management and am glad to be supporting such a project.

Thank you for taking a look at my proposal @aissatoudiagne. I am yet to complete the costing of the project. I am taking my time to ensure I capture all aspects of direct and indirect cost that the will be incurred, but I hope to finish and update it before the week ends. Thank you for the comment.

Hi Stevie, thank you for supporting my proposal, I am glad this project is similarly been undertaken in Indonesia. I can say that my proposal will empower the community, most noticeable will be empowerment through employment both directly and indirectly. The project will directly employing the unemployed youth in Ghana and indirectly creating employment by paying community members that gather waste and bring it to our Hubs for payment and this I am sure will involve a lot of women in the society. Anyway I hope to get more information and links to these projects being undertaken in your country. Best Regards

Hello, Abraham. It seems that you are very passionated in this project proposal. I really appreciate your efforts and wish the best. The project being undertaken in Indonesia called bank sampah (waste bank), in which peoples could separate their rubbish into organic and non-organic, and some of it are recyclable such as paper, glass, bottles, plastic, and metals. They could get some money by deposit their recyclable waste. Hi Sergio, I can't state how important your comment is, it was a daunting issue during the proposal creation. For the pilot to start we did not want to increase cost and labor by engaging in further activities in the name of raising funds for payment of waste which could distract our focus. We then decided to add the cost of payment for waste materials for at least the first month into the costing of the entire project, we plan to manage this fund in a very sustainable way to ensure there will be more money for payments in the subsequent months. This cost can be found in figure2.1-item 8, in the cost section of the proposal. And yes we will explore the creation of biofuels or energy from waste but not within the short term of the project operation. We plan to take these actions and also build our own recycling plants within our medium term of operation as we have already outlined in our time line. We would love to hear more suggestions from you on how to internally generate funds to help with the payments of the waste materials. once again thank you very much Sergio. Regards. Abraham (G4CC)
