Pitch

A Home Automation sytem that generates crypto-tokens by succesfully conserving energy, subsidizing food production and waste removal.

Description

Summary

We are proposing to leverage the technology of IoT to create a home automation system that functions as an integral piece of a renewable energy value-chain.  The system will provide all the typical energy saving features found in current home automation, but will also protect the system from attack by utilizing a crypto token wallet that secures the system via a blockchain, and in doing so generates tokens used to subsidize renewable energy projects in agriculture and waste removal. The network will function with a Proof-of-Stock algorithm using ultra low power hardware to converse energy.

Waste removal teams (for biowaste) are given access to raw materials that agriculturalist can purhase at a subsidized price, while greywater waste will be pooled into community holding tanks.  The end product(s) (or value-added products in the case of agriculture) is returned to the home owner/consumer at a lower cost basis, because their contribution to the system will be accounted for (in terms of micropayments) by the IoT device.

What actions do you propose?

We propose integrating IoT software to manage energy consumption, and connecting users on the network to an integrated value-chain that consists of primary agriculture producers and waste management specialist.

  1. The hardware and software models will be designed and deployed in home, offices, and buildings.

  2. The supply chain will be connected by marketing relationships with waste management companies and primary agriculture producers

  3. The users of our hardware and software will receive value-added benefits by shopping with associated merchants who use waste management services to source their agriculture inputs.  The amount of contribution to the network will correspond to the discount owners receive by transparent accounting ledger stored on a blockchain.

Who will take these actions?

Any residential land development companies will be keen on buildings implemented technologies that save cost during the lifetime of the project.  Any individual homeowner will be interested in investing in a home automation system to be part of a network that generates a revenue stream simply by virtue of membership.

Where will these actions be taken?

The system is designed as a stand-alone unit, but functions more efficiently in urban areas, in apartment buildings, and subdivisions, or other places that share energy costs and waste removal.

How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?

The energy wasted can be cut to about 30%.  But the effect on the economy, in terms of growing wealth and generating employment opportunities is only as limited as the proliferation of the system.  The main economic concept behind the project is to transition into a future-oriented economy based on more equitable agreements between market players than a debt-based system that can be moved off a debtors books and refinanced without increasing higher levels of risk down the data chain.

What are other key benefits?

This will lead to energy consumed to drop to about 30 % as per http://physics.fau.edu/observatory/lightpol-econ.html statistics on energy wasted in United States alone.

What are the proposal’s costs?

A side effect, albeit a positive one, would be to see large corporations held by a small number of individuals finding less opportunities to leverage capital, and being forced, by economies of scale, to diversify into more decentralized enterprises that incorporate equity sharing, spreading wealth throughout the whole economy, and brining more people out of poverty.

Time line

1.Develop a stable prototype

2.Extensively test it

3.Produce it for the market stage

Related proposals

We are advocating building an integrated energy value chain, and there are related proposals, especially in waste management field (see http://saner.gy/our-work/the-sanergy-model).  Our proposal differs because it seeks to decrease energy consumption and better maximize energy output from (recycled) waste.
